2010 Nissan Micra/March Coupe-Cabriolet Rendering

These are the first renderings of Nissan’s coupe-cabriolet version of the Micra/March. The previous-gen model came in three body forms – three door, five door, coupe cabriolet (C+C). Additionally, there was the Micra SR (sports version) as well. The older C+C was designed at the new London-based Nissan Design Europe studio, developed at the Nissan Technical Centre Europe at Cranfield, Bedfordshire and built at the Washington plant. The C+C was a global car in every sense of the word!

The electric folding glass roof is made by Karmann coachworks and the version sports a 2+2 seating layout although rear seats are best for small children and shopping bags. The current Micra comes with a 97bhp Supercharged and Direct Injected 1.2L engine which is currently the most powerful in its lineup. The engine will serve all the models in the range although the SR might get a 1.6L (possibly in the 190bhp tune from the Juke).

If the C+C came to India, it might make a good alternative to all the cars presently on sale. A refreshing C+C for around Rs 7 lakhs would do wonders for the brand and the hatchback. Please bring it to India Nissan!

One doubt – Was the V-Platform designed with the C+C in mind? We think not. Nissan will only build 3 models from the platform and the C+C was not one of them. So will this only remain a rendering? Only time will tell.
