2011 Elantra spied – Exclusive pictures of Interiors!

Go back to 2000. Hyundai was hardly on the radar. Many companies ignored the Korean carmaker and took them lightly. A decade down the line, Hyundai is a name even Toyota and VW take seriously, not to mention the entire automobile industry. Its cars are brilliant and are among the top in every segment and its new range of vehicles re-affirm its superiority.

Their latest Sonata/i40 is a smashing car and following in those footsteps will be the all new Elantra/i30. We have picked up some awesome spy pictures of the car and the talking point are the coupe like roofline and the spectacularly designed interiors.

Hyundai has become so serious a competitor that Toyota has named Hyundai as one among their their main competitors including VW, Honda and Nissan. One of the latest products to come out of Hyundai, the i series has been a smashing hit and their assault continues with the introduction of the all new Sonata/i40. They even released their latest generation of direct injected petrol engines. Following all this will be the next Elantra/i30 which you see here.

The Elantra will borrow heavily from the ix35 in terms of frontal styling which is expected to carry the hexagonal grille that will form a family look for Hyundai. Other highlights include the flowing coupe roofline and the interiors. Hyundai have taken a huge step over the older Elantra which was an utter flop in India. People never took to its awkward looks and below-par interiors. All that will change with the arrival of this model which insiders say is the best looking Hyundai ever.

Hyundai never really brought the updated Elantra to India as it was sure to fail considering the formidable competition it had from the Civic and Corolla. This one however has to make it to India. It will be a huge boost to the brand name and people will queue up just for the looks. Hyundai’s after-sales and reliability are also good so that rounds off an irresistible package. The interiors of the spied model require special mention – It’s got the best interiors I have seen in a Hyundai and the brushed aluminium look with integrated buttons looks perfect.

I really put out this message to Hyundai – With such looks and the option of 1.6 – 2.0L GDI and 2.0L CRDI engines, you have a winner in your hands. Its time Honda and Toyota started designing their new Civics and Corollas.
