Fiat Palio ended it’s Indian episode recently, but the story is not same for Fiat Palio for many other global markets. Palio was enjoying a good market sentiment in South American markets. But recently Palio witnessed sharp drop in sales in markets like Brazil, Argentina after Fiat Uno made it’s debut. To regain the old glory of Palio, Fiat is planning to launch a new version of it in these strategic markets by mid of next year. The new Palio (Code :- Project – 326) is nearing completion and here comes another rendering of this upcoming small car from the Italians.
2011 Palio continues Fiat’s latest design language, many similarities between latest Fiat Punto Evo. A familiar bonnet and grille combination with chromium garnishing looks clean now. The headlights and moderately big grille further adds the beauty of our old sturdy Palio. The engine options of upcoming 2011 Fiat Palio could vary from Fire Evo 1.0 ltr to the latest 1.6 E-Torq. While the first engine will satisfy the desires of customers who give prime importance to fuel economy, the last engine will quench the power thirst by unleashing a whopping 115hp at peak. Another engine (1.4ltr) will be doing balancing act between these two engines.
Fiat India is planning to bring a new Small car to our “huge” small car market by 2012. We don’t anticipate arrival of new Palio to India for a second spell, atleast for few years. But if the production version of new Fiat Palio is similar to above shown rendering, we will be happy to welcome it India for another spell. But the big question remains. Will Fit India take a positive step in this direction? let us wait and watch. Stay tuned to Wheelosphere for more updates.
