2011 Mercedes Benz CLS leaked before official launch

Pictures from the brochure of Mercedes Benz CLS have leaked online much before its official launch. The leaked images reveal the second generation of the trend setting four door coupe in all its glory. The new CLS might not look as revolutionary which is down to the fact that the first generation CLS was the first of its kind and is the one which stays in our mind.

However, look at it with a fresh perspective and you immediately appreciate its styling. The CLS’ profile is similar to the old model and looks spectacular although the confluence of curves on the rear door looks like a bit of mess. Also notice the pontoon type rear fender styling that was found on older E-class sedans. The rear view is equally impressive considering the organic shape lights. Come over to the front and you are greeted by a face that was actually found on Mercedes’ Shooting Brake concept (remember Auto Expo 2010?). You get rather organic shaped headlamps and a low mounted radiator grille that has caught on to Mercedes’ styling post SLS AMG. The striking alloy wheels require special mention. Overall, the new CLS is a definite head turner and ups the style quotient compared to the present model.

The new CLS is a strict four seater and the centre console extends through the full length of the cabin. The interiors are tastefully done but there aren’t enough pictures to substantiate on that. It will definitely be plush to take on the best in the burgeoning four door coupe segment. The CLS will be powered by a range of engines from economical diesels to fire breathing AMGs that will help compete against the Porsche Panamera Turbo and V12 powered Aston Martin Rapide.

As the spy images have surfaced, it is only a matter of time before the official images are out. So stay tuned to Wheelosphere for more updates.

Can’t help falling in love with this car. It’s so magnificent! The other Mercedes car launched yesterday too, the E-Class Cabriolet. Both these cars are simply amazing.
