Its always the Chinese, at least with respect to Nissan. The Chinese have always spoilt their party, be it the Nissan Micra, or the Sunny sedan or this, the new Teana. As far as we could remember, all of Nissan’s cars are first scooped in China, right up to the Micra which was snapped at Nissan’s Dongfeng facility in China around six months before its official debut. Now, here are the first pictures of the Nissan Teana minor change which will be officially revealed at the Guangzhou Motor Show in December.

As expected, the front bumpers are all new and the headlamps now sport xenon lights. Other prominent changes include the new alloy wheel designs (two versions pictured) and LED tail lamps. At the moment, we do not have any news on the mechanical changes but going by the ‘Pure Drive’ badge on the trunklid, we do expect some minor tweaks to the engine and transmission to improve efficiency and reduce emissions. We are not entirely sure when Nissan will launch the new Teana in India. One safe option would be to predict that Nissan might be tempted to bring in the new model once they start local assembly of the Teana, maybe in late 2011 to early 2012, after which the price of the Teana is expected to come down by quite an extent (Rs 4 lakhs maybe). So stay tuned till then.
