Unlike the previous generation BMW’s, (the ones that were so different looking due to Bangle effect), the new generations of BMWs under Adrian Van Hooydunk have started to adopt a family look that is so prevalent on the present generation 7 and 5 series. From the spy pictures, we are expecting the same sort of styling to percolate down the range.
The Kidney grille featured on the test mules are lower and wider and the overhangs will be reduced by pushing wheels to the corners. This will generate more space and better weight distribution. As usual, a sedan, coupe, touring and convertible will make their way one by one followed by the M3. A new range of turbocharged inline-6 and 4s are expected although a brand new range of 3-cylinder engines are expected as well. A hybrid will join the lineup down the line.
BMW is on a roll in India with the launch of its 330i and 320d Executive. The new 3-series is expected in a year.
