2825 units of Chevrolet Beat sold in January

With 10,000 bookings in 24 days of launch, the sales figures for Beat for the month of February is what we should wait for. Chevrolet has released the sales of all its models in Jan 2010 and the Beat has sold 2825 units, which is really impressive for this little hatch. Beat is certainly rocking the town and if Maruti and Hyundai dont take some immediate steps, their models are sure to come down in their sales.

Its as simple as this – 1. WagonR/Estilo/A-Star or Beat? 2. Hyundai i10/Beat? Im quite sure that a majority will go for the Beat which will affect Maruti badly. However, the same cannot be told about the i10 which is on par with the Beat and hence will put up a fight. The tables are turned Maruti, you can no longer sell old cars and make money – We say bring the latest generation Japanese Domestic market WagonR. That will certainly be a hot car to buy.

Sales figures of other Chevys

Spark – 3477

Beat – 2825

Tavera – 1512

Cruze -  686

Aveo UV-A – 434

Aveo – 364

Captiva – 72

Optra – 51

Our suggestion to GM – Now that all your Indian range barring the Aveo series is up to date, bring in the new Aveo and UV-A. The present models hardly sell and even the brilliant Cruze outsells these two. Do we need to say more?

Commenting on this impressive performance, Mr. P Balendran, Vice-President, GM India said, “Introduction of two best-in-segment cars from the 300 series, increase in customer outreach through distribution network, our unique value proposition like Chevrolet Cashless Ownership offer on Spark and our promise to deliver quality, performance and safety are the factors that have led to this month-by-month escalating growth rates. This consistent sales growth shows the customer belief and confidence in Chevrolet.”

“We are pleased to see such robust growth for all our car lines and we believe these world class products will further propel the Chevrolet brand in the market. The response to our latest offerings from the 300 series, the Cruze and the Beat, has been overwhelming and we are certain that these will further provide an impetus to Chevrolet’s growth in the Indian market”, he added.

GM India is now in the process of further ramping up its production by adding the third shift at its Halol plant and second shift at Talegaon plant to meet the increased demand of its products. The company is also rapidly expanding its sales and service network to 300 locations across the country by the end of this year from the present 204 outlets to support the market demand of its cars.

The company had also introduced a number of industry first programmes including   a centralized 24×7 call centre to attend to customer complaints and provide information related to our products and services. A local call to 3030-8080 from any landline or mobile phone across the country can access this service.  Other industry first programmes introduced by GM India include unmatched product warranties/ guarantees, a 24×7 breakdown helpline service, Chevy U-First Camps, and also its unique “Cost of Ownership” program to further bolster the excellent ownership experience of Chevrolet vehicles
