We were just discussing about the increase in sales figures of the Renault-Nissan alliance worldwide and Nissan’s Indian plans and now Nissan has announced its first step towards giving its brand a wider reach. Nissan will conduct a grand tour of India with the 370Z and showcase the iconic model at its showrooms and malls across the nation as a part of its brand building exercise. Now that’s one nice event to look forward to, but we do know that Nissan is not selling the GT-R in India but why not atleast bring it on this grand tour to show the people of India what the GT-R and Nissan are capable of? Why is it only the 370Z?

“The Gran Tour is part of the brand-building initiatives and our effort is to reach out to prospective buyers by bringing the brand up close and personal to them. We are confident that initiatives like ‘Gran Tour De Nissan 370Z’ will enable us to build Nissan as an Innovative & Desirable automotive brand in the run up to the launch of our global compact car in July 2010,” Kiminobu Tokuyama, MD and CEO, Nissan India said.
The 370Z is available in 2 variants priced at Rs 53.5 lakhs and 54.5 lakhs for the manual and automatic version respectively. Nissan is embarking on its brand building exercise before the launch of the Micra/March in India sometime in July. With the Beat setting a sales record, lets see what the small car can achieve.
