All new Mercedes CLS four door coupe almost revealed during photo session

The Mercedes Benz CLS was the first car to be called a ‘Four Door Coupe’ which sounded alien when it was launched in 2002. Now though, there are so many cars from the Passat CC, Sonata YF, new Accent, Elantra to the likes of the Galibier, Panamera, Rapide and Estoque. The list is endless. So to show all the new entrants who the boss actually is, Mercedes will launch the all new CLS later this year and we are happy to bring you the first ever pictures of this model with least camouflage.

Hit the jump for more details and pictures.

The first-gen was a favourite with Wheelosphere because it stood out from the crop of sedans and it was exclusive. It looked stunning with clean lines and low slung chance. It was also available with a full range of AMG no-compromise engines which made it a genuine sportscar competitor. Then came all the new kids on the block which tried to dethrone the CLS before which there will be an all new one which you see here.

Gone are the curvy flowing lines, replaced by sharp lines and corners. Mercedes is moving towards edgy styling and the E-class showed its intentions. The CLS is the next model to undergo the change and we cannot comment until the vehicle is revealed but some details like the organic rear and front lights are just spectacular. There is a hint of the pontoon fender styling at the rear, with deep creases in the rear doors. This specific model in the pictures seems jacked up and is quite high. The rear view mirrors, lifted from the E-class look out of place on this model though. The vehicle that we have is the CLS 350 that features Mercedes Benz’s new 60degree Direct Injected 3.5L V6 that makes 306bhp. Expect the hammerhead twinturbo 4.7L v8 with 435bhp while a 550bhp AMG model is also on cards.

Don’t go anywhere, we will bring you all the details once the vehicle is launched.
