Almost Confirmed Next Generation Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Is Electric

We had a post on Mitsubishi Lancer Evo launch in India. This post stood one of our best post in 2009, thanks to a group of motorheads. But painfully we should admit the fact, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X India launch slipped one more target date. We reported that Lancer Evo X will be in India by this January but only three days to go, Mitsubishi HML is still tight lipped about Lancer Evo X  India launch. And if it is going to happen then that can be counted as one of the most surprising car launch. Now another interesting news for the Lancer Evo X fans, your dream car’s second generation will be a hybrid.

The current 2.0ltr four cylinder engine powered Lancer Evo X is dream machine of  many. This powerful engine can easily churn out 300hp power at peak which will quench the thirst of  power lovers. The Lancer Evo X is getting a new version called, Lancer Evo XI which is powered by a Electric turbo engine. The Lancer Evo XI will be powered by a four cylinder 2.0ltr engine with electric motor back up.

The rear drive elements in Evo XI will be all new, specially developed for second generation Lancer Evo X. This drive line will ensure minimum power loss during transmission and maximum power transmission. The front axle will be coupled to an electric motor, the combination of the electric and fossil fuel engine will give approximately 100hp(yet to be confirmed). The driver can switch between electric and fossil fuel engines. The electric motor is capable to take Evo XI to few tens of kilo meters.
