The A6 being Audi’s flagship executive sedan, has claimed success in markets across the globe. And now here in India, Audi has launched the A6 with the 2 liter TDI motor.
The A6 has been built with the philosophy of decreasing weight while maintaining strength and rigidity(popularly known as Audi Ultra). And this is manifested with its appropriate use of the right materials as and when there is a demand. For example, the strut mounts which are subjected to impact( given the state on our road conditions) are made of cast Aluminum while the body panels are made of light weight Alumimun. On the other hand, the A pillars are made of hot formed steel which is extremely vulnerable in the unfortunate event of a crash.
The ingenuity of Audi’s design can be manifested with its unbelievable 18.9 kmpl mileage( as claimed by Audi). The latest A6 stretches to 4.92 mtrs, stands at a height of 1.46 mtrs and is 1.87 mtrs wide. The 2.0 liter engine is caliberated to put out 177 ponies at the max.
Audi A6 2.0 TDI comes at Rs. 37,70,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). Audi A6 2.0 TDI will be available at dealerships from October 2011.
The A6, loaded with a gazillion features and driver aids,stands a formidable rival for the E-class and the 5 series.
