The Audi A7 needs no introduction to those who visited the Auto Expo 2010. The A7 was the star of the Audi stall and if Audi are serious about intentions, then the A7 will make it to India soon after its RHD version is ready. The official unveiling of the A7 is on Monday away but as recent events will remind us, the official pictures of the car have leaked online already. For the real deal of high-resolution images, we still need to wait one more day. Aimed squarely at the Mercedes Benz CLS, Aston Rapide and Porsche Panamera, the A7 will be followed by the BMW Grancoupe.

However, all said and done, we feel that the duo of German companies – BMW and Audi are marching towards the same goal – making all their cars look similar. Now that was the case with Mercedes but they have successfully defied that trend with the E-class. Audi and BMW, the brands that sported unique and special designs are now losing out. As a result, neither the Audi A7 nor the BMW Grancoupe stand out. The CLS is better in our opinion in terms of style. The interiors however, are spectacular looking. The A7’s interiors along with the A8 are two of the best cabins from Germany. However, beauty is in the eyes of the observer – so decide for yourself whether you like it or not.
The A7 will get the best engines of the range and leech like grip from the Quattro system. An S7 and RS7 are said to be in the works. Time then for BMW to get their BMW Grancoupe M. Come back tomorrow for the official information from the launch.
