Audi launches A7 Sportback and RS5 Coupe

Today Audi launched  A7 Sportback and RS5 Coupe in India. We were expecting Audi A7 Sportback but RS5 came as a sweet surprise..! Audi A7 Sportback base variant  comes with a 65 lakh rupees (ex-showroom Gurgaon) price tag and top end will come for Rs. 85 lakh (ex-showroom Gurgaon). There are two engine options on menu, one petrol and one diesel variant each. Both the engines are of equal bore size ie 3.0ltr. The A7 diesel motor will deliver 245bhp maximum power and 500Nm peak torque. Audi India aims to sell  between 100-200 units of A7 Sportback in our market. Audi dealers claim that they have already received over 100 bookings for A7 before it’s launch. Audi will start the delivery of A7 in India by end of this month.

RS5 Coupe was a surprise launch from Audi India and has been priced at Rs. 76 lakh. Audi RS5  is powered by  a 4.2 liter FSI V8 motor. The engine is coupled with a seven-speed S tronic transmission via  dual-clutch. This transmission and clutch combination will ensure faster  gearshifts. The 0–100 kmph will come  in just 4.6 seconds. Audi wants to ship out 20-30 units of RS5 in India.

“With its athletic and powerful identity, spontaneous responsiveness and extraordinarily high revving, the new Audi R S 5 is the ideal high performance coupé which embodies the core essence of our brand DNA, ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’. Equipped with a powerful V8 engine, a new permanent all – wheel drive system and a whole series of performance characteristics, the Audi R S 5 truly epitomizes progressiveness and is unmatched in terms of style, performance and driving dynamics. I am confident that the launch of the new Audi R S 5 will further help us consolidate our position in the sports car segment,” Mr. Michael Perschke, Head – Audi India, said.

This year Audi India  wants  total sales of  nearly 5000 units in Indian subcontinent. By 2020 they want to clock 40,000 units milestone. If Audi India continue this product launch spree, we think they can easily surpass their target well before 2020.
