The Supercharged petrol engine with 333bhp and massive torque of 440Nm between 2900 and 4400rpm endows the Q7 with blistering performance. Standing 100km/h takes just 6.9 seconds thanks partly to the quick-shifting 8-speed automatic gearbox and the Q7 will top out at 245km/h. If you find the petrol version to be too heavy on fuel (expected efficiency is 6-8km/l), you can also have two diesels, a 3.0L and a 4.2L TDi Quattro which is India’s most powerful diesel SUV. If the Q7 is not your cup of tea, then you might want to wait for the upcoming A8. The A7 could be here next year, the market survey for which is underway. • India’s most successful luxury SUV Audi Q7 unveiled with V6 3.0 TFSI engine- new highly powered petrol engine
  • New TFSI Technology and 8-speed automatic transmission for the first time in the Audi Q7
  • Deliveries to the customers to begin in January 2011

Mumbai: Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, today announced the launch of the Audi Q7 3.0 TFSI quattro – the latest engine variant of the largest selling luxury SUV in India. Deliveries of the new Audi Q7 3.0 TFSI are slated to begin in January 2011.

“The Audi Q7 – the high performance luxury SUV has been one of the main contributors to our success in the Indian market. Reflecting the core essence of our brand DNA, ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’, the Audi Q7 now demonstrates even greater efficiency, with a new engine, a new transmission and a whole series of new performance characteristics. We are confident that it will further help us consolidate our leadership position in the luxury SUV space“, said Mr. Michael Perschke, Head – Audi India.

The Audi Q7 is the large Audi for sporty individualists, for people who are seeking a vehicle that will take them anywhere they want to go for sports, recreation and business. It has been the market leader in its segment for the past three consecutive years.

The 3.0 TFSI quattro engine delivers 245 kW (333 hp) and achieves maximum torque of 440 Nm between 2,900 and 5,300 rpm. This V6 with an engine displacement of 2,995 cc accelerates the Audi Q7 from a standing start to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 245 km/h, resulting in a dynamic and enthralling driving experience.

The Audi Q7 3.0 TFSI employs TFSI technology for the first time and combines supercharging of the engine with petrol direct injection. The compressor provides for top-class performance characteristics on the new 3.0 TFSI quattro engine with high torque at low engine speeds, resulting in an extremely spontaneous response and exceptional power development across the entire speed range.

The all new 8-speed automatic transmission considerably reduces fuel consumption and emissions on the Audi Q7 compared to its predecessors. It minimizes jumps in engine speed between gears, and the engine always runs near its ideal operating point. Shifting is smooth and practically imperceptible, as well as being spontaneous, speedy and supple.

The Audi Q7 range is also powered by highly efficient diesel engines and is available in 4.2 TDI (India’s most powerful diesel SUV) and 3.0 TDI engines. The new Audi Q7 3.0 TFSI will be available at an attractive price of INR 59,29,000/- onwards (ex-showroom Delhi)

The Audi model range in India includes Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi TT and the super sports car Audi R8, available across the country: in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai West and Pune.
