Audi India is looking at India for reviving their falling numbers in Europe and America.Audi,the German auto major opened Indian operations in 2007, and managed to sell 349 units.In 2008 Audi India sold over 1000 units, and registered 201 % growth over year 2007.Their business plan India aiming big in coming year.”Audi India has set a macro target of selling around 3,000 vehicles by 2010″Audi India Managing Director Benoit Tiers told DNA.
Audi India’s product line up includes Audi A8, Audi Q7, Audi A6, Audi TT, new Audi A4 and super sports car Audi R8.Hope our readers remember there were media reports that Audi sold out their projected volume of Audi R8 series sports car in India before it’s actual launch.But the situation has changed a lot and customers chosen ‘wait and watch’ mode for time being.
Audi India also offered many sops to get the number going in Indian sub continental.It includes ‘Zero percent Financing’ and 4 -year warranty as a special scheme.Also Audi became cheaper by minimum a lakh when government offered cenvat reduction.The localisation of A4 and A6 series made them very competitive by saving the import duties.
Audi is planning to bring Audi Q5 to India in this year.Also there will be introduction of variants of existing models soon in India.So a definitely exciting year ahead for Audi and their fans in India.
