Audi Q7 4.2l TDi Quattro launched in India

The luxury SUV segment leader Audi’s Q7 has just received a special edition in the form of the 4.2 TDi Quattro. This massive engine makes this the fastest SUV in India. The specifications are mind-boggling – 4134cc, 8-cylinders, 32 valves, 326bhp @ 4000rpm and a massive 560lb-ft between 1750 – 3000 rpm. The performance is blistering – It will blast past most sports cars in a sprint to 100km/h (just 6.4 seconds) while reaching a top speed of 240km/h but still returning 10km/l. However, the story is not the same with the price – It starts at just Rs 58,68,000 Ex-Mumbai, which we think is a decent price considering what is on offer. You better book yours as soon as possible as Audi will hike the prices by close to Rs 8 lakhs to Rs 66,12,500 after the offer period.

The 4.2TDi joins the mainstay of the range – the 3.0l TDi and the two petrols, a 3.6FSI Quattro and 4.2FSI Quattro that also did duty in the hot RS4.

“The Audi Q7 has set the benchmark as the best luxury SUV in the country and with the introduction of this new powerful diesel engine we continue to offer customers the most progressive, sporty and sophisticated products – reflecting the core essence of our brand DNA ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’,” said Benoit Tiers, managing director, Audi India.

“India has been a significant growth driver for Audi globally and this special offer as we commemorate three rewarding years in India is our way of thanking our valued customers in India without whom our success would not have been possible,” he added.

The Q7 is Bollywood’s pet with many celebrities flaunting their Q7s, chief among which was John Abraham, whow as among the first to buy the Q7 when it was launched in India. This exclusive Limited Edition Audi Q7 4.2 TDI will be available at Audi dealerships across the country. All other standard equipment on the car remains unchanged. The Q7’s appeal just jumped by a huge margin with the arrival of the 4.2TDi. So with the 4.2 V8 already here, could you bring the 5.0L V12 TDi to India as well Audi?
