It is a well known fact that Bajaj,Nissan and Renault alliance is working hard to finalize answer for Nano. The small car from this tri-party alliance will be rolling out in 2011 as confirmed by Bajaj officials, also the same news was confirmed by Renault official at Geneva Motor Show. Now some more details of Bajaj’s ultra-low-cost(ULC) car are available.
Bajaj Auto Ltd(BAL) chairman Rajiv Bajaj told CNBC-TV18 that the ULC has achieved the targets in terms of fuel efficiency and emission norms. The target of 30Km/ltr is about to achieve. Also he claimed the ULC will generate CO2 less than 100g/km.Both are admirable figures when comparing to Tata Nano.
Mr.Rajiv also disclosed some more interesting facts. He said “we are on schedule, and able to produce this small with or without help of Nissan and Renault.ULC may not be as cheap as Nano, but will beat Nano in terms of fuel efficiency.Bajaj,Nissan and Renault partnership is now finalizing the branding and distribution networking details now.
Our Thoughts :- Bajaj has promised great mileage figures while launching it’s motorcycles. But we don’t know some one has achieved this figures. Now the claimed fuel efficiency of ULC 30Km/ltr is too good to be true, even 5Km/ltr less will be a great deal.So we can cross fingeres and wait till it’s launch.
