Bamboo Taxis sounds funny but it is true, from today these Bamboo taxis are plying in Thailand roads.These taxis are flagged off by mayor of Tabontabon (in the Philippines) Rustico Balderian.These taxis are made of bamboos but not fully.Ninety percentage of these bamboo taxis are made of local grown bamboos.
Bamboos taxis peculiarities does not end there,they are running on bio-diesel.Bio-diesel is made of coconut oil thus makes bamboo taxis nearly hundred percentage green vehicle.There are two variants of Bamboo Taxis available.The first variant ECO-1 which can carry up to 20 persons comfortably while the second variant ECO-2 is capable to carry 8 persons.
ECO-1 an ECO-2 both can run approximately 8 hours on one gallon bio-diesel.Also these taxis are come with basic accessories like music system.Bamboo Taxi’s environment friendly aspects are not limited to these.The roofs too covered by Filipino mats, which are considered eco-friendly.Do let us know what do you think about these innovative bamboo taxis.
