BMW X1, the compact SUV launch is scheduled for 23rd December 2010. One week before the actual launch, the price details of BMW X1 leaked to internet through ACI. BMW X1 will be launched in three variants, Corporate Edition, Highline and Cool Elegance. The Corporate Edition will be available in both diesel and petrol variants but in Highline and Cool Elegance variants BMW X1 will come with gasoline option only.
BMW X1 1.8Si Petrol Corporate Edition comes at Rs. 22 lakhs while its diesel variant (2.0d ) comes at Rs. 23.90 lakh. BMW X1 Exclusive and Cool Elegance has been priced at Rs.29.9lakhs and Rs.32.5lakhs respectively. BMW X1 will be assembled in India at their Chennai plant where they recently assembled their 10000th car. BMW X1 will be coming to India as CKD kits. BMW 3 Series and 5 Series are also being assembled from this plant.
BMW X1 will be available in rear wheel drive configuration. The base variant Corporate Edition will miss various luxury features like sunroof, i-drive interface, and 6-CD changer, leather seats, wooden garnishing. The middle version, Highline comes with all above said features plus Xenon headlamps, parking sensors. The fully loaded top end BMW X1 will have Anthracite Headliner as well as nicely decorated leather seats in addition to all those features listed in Highline variant.
By launching X1 in India, BMW will be opening an all new market segment here. So who will be the next..? We wish it could be Audi Q3, we hope it will come to India but when..? It’s a million dollar question we would like to redirect to Audi India.
