In New Year Cars To Get Dearer

Model Change during New Year is a common cause of  falling automobile sale during all Decembers.But if you are planning to purchase a new car in this New Year, you may have to shell out some extra thousands for owning a 2010 model car.Some of the major car makers have already declared their plans to hike some of their products.Though the picture is not clear about which are all models are about to get a  price hike and it’s quantum.

To begin with  Toyota Kirloskar Motors Ltd(TKML) is planning to raise the price of  Toyota Fortuner,Corolla Altis and Innova by maximum 2% from this January 1.The second car manufacturer who follows TKML is Czech major Skoda Auto, which planning to hike the price of all of their models from Fabia to Superb.The quantum of hike  varies from 10,000 to 20,000 rupees across the models.

Our very own Mahindra and Mahindra Limited too planning to revisit the pricing of some of their products.The price revision will happen by  15 December-2009, so if you are planning to buy any of Mahindra products, bury the model change worry and act fast.Honda Seil Cars is enjoying strong sales of their New Generation Honda City and Civic, is also planning to give a mild shock to their prospective customers.

All of them clarified that the price hike inevitable due to steady increase of major raw materials prices.Toyota and Honda said weaker Yen make their business life  tougher.Other major industry players Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor India officials said they are evaluating the situations very closely and will take a decision soon.On the other hand Tata did not said anything specific about possible price hike of any of their product.
