Carl Forster quits as Tata Motors Group CEO

Carl Forster, the Group CEO of Tata Motors resigned from the position with immediate effect. The announcement came from Tata Motors on Friday. Carl Forster has completed only 18 months in Tata Motors. Though Mr.Forster resigned from the position citing “unavoidable personal circumstances” he will be associated with the company in capacity of a non-executive member of the board.

carl-peter-forster“I deeply regret that my personal circumstances make it difficult for me to continue to perform the challenging duties of managing the global activities of Tata Motors. I am glad to continue my association with the company” said Carl  Forster.

“We would like to thank Forster for his contributions to the successful development of our company in his role as Group CEO and MD” said Ratan Tata, Chairman of the Board of Tata Motors.

Carl Forster was overseeing Global operations of Tata Motors and Jaguar and Land Rover brands. Mr.Forster, an ex-BMW, ex-GM, automotive industry veteran managed to turn around ailing  Jaguar and Land Rover after Tata Motors acquired it. The company which was struggling with huge losses finally started making profits and more importantly it started contributing to Tata Motor’s profit book. But the ultra cheap Tata Nano is still struggling to prove itself.

Anyways let us wish all the very best for his future career and wait for next CEO of Tata Motors. Watch this space for more updates.
