Chevrolet To Bring LPG Beat By 2010 End

Chevrolet Beat India

Chevrolet Beat is  churning our small hatch market with it’s sales performance. This week we had reported that Chevrolet Beat diesel is in pipe line and will see Indian roads by 2011. Now we have another exciting news, Chevrolet is planning to fit  LPG cylinder in Beat. This factory assembled Chevrolet Beat LPG variant will reach our market by end 2010. Mr Ankush Arora, Vice-President, Marketing  said “General Motors India plans to launch an LPG variant of its recently launched Chevrolet Beat by the end of this calendar year”.

“We will have the LPG-run Beat ready in a few months and plan to launch it by November-December,” he continued. General Motors India currently offering  it’s another run away success Spark also in LPG version. Spark LPG  recording monthly sale of 700 units on average while other alternative fuel product line up bags  200 units. This 900 units constitutes 9 percentage of Chevrolet India’s total sales.

We should appreciate the way GM  India doing the business, while the parent company was reeling under economic problems, GM India formulated  a solid product launch plan by introducing Spark in several variants including  Spark Music and Spark LPG. Then we witnessed  Cruze launch which also managed to clock some decent figures.

Here again GM India is focussing in LPG version of Beat, obviously LPG infrastructure in India is much stronger than CNG infrastructure. So GM India is aware of the fact that LPG products can bag better sales than that of it’s LPG siblings. Chevrolet may add a hefty premium for this factory fitted LPG kits. But it will be worth paying, so if you are planning to purchase a Beat in near future  you may wait to find out the Chevrolet Beat LPG price and other features.
