GM India launched the automatic version of its Cruze on Tuesday. Priced at Rs 13.45 lakhs Ex-Delhi, the new Cruze is aimed at people who prefer to ‘cruze’ in bumper to bumper traffic. Moreover, Chevrolet has every base covered with the launch of its automatic version. Those looking for the performance of a petrol will be very impressed with the diesel Cruze’s power and performance while returning low running costs. An automatic further increases the appeal. Moreover, this is not a poor man’s 4 speed auto ‘box but a full-on 6-speed auto with tiptronic.
The automatic is available only in the bells and whistles version, LTZ which comes with Push Button Start, Cruise Control, Smart Screen and Electric Sunroof among others. The gearbox, unlike the lazy 4 speed ones found on other cars, includes a clutch-to-clutch shift operation for higher precision and smoother shifting between the gears. A wide first gear ensures brisk acceleration while the overdriven 6th gear maintains low engine speeds in the interests of better fuel economy.
Another advantage the Cruze auto has is its service interval. The Cruze uses premium quality transmission oil that does not need any replacement under normal conditions. It will pretty much last the vehicle’s lifetime. In addition to the six colors already on offer, the automatic version of Cruze will be available in a special 3 coat paint called White Diamond.
