Chevrolet Launches Low Cost Sedan In China. India Launch To Follow?

Chevrolet New Low Cost Sedan SailChevrolet launched a low cost  sedan in China. This sedan  officially labelled as Chevrolet Sail is primarily intended to replace Opel Corsa Sedan there. Media reports suggest that Chevrolet may replace the European version of Aveo Sedan with this new low cost sedan. The design and styling of this new low cost sedan is a mixture of two Chevrolet products Aveo and Cruze.

New Chevrolet Sail SedanNew Chevrolet Sail Sedan comes with two engine configurations. At bottom the Chevrolet Sail is powered by 1.2 16v engine, the upper version is equipped with a 1.4 16v engine. These engines are coupled with four speed automatic and manual gear box options. Chevrolet has been placed Chevrolet Sail as a good option for those who looking for an entry level sedan. To meet the price expectations Chevrolet  opted for ordinary plastics and basic interiors.

Chevrolet Sail SedanIn India, Chevrolet  Aveo Sedan and Aveo U-VA Hatch back models continuing their dismal performance. The competition has virtually thrashed these two models. The above low cost sedan perfectly fitting to Indian entry level Sedan buyer’s pocket. Don’t do you think launching this  new low cost sedan will make the sales performance of Chevrolet Aveo’s much better than the current levels? Will Chevrolet bring this model as a surprise to upcoming 2010 New Delhi Auto Expo? Wait and watch.
