Chevrolet Released Images Of Aveo RS Before US Launch

Chevrolet Aveo RS

In US Chevrolet revises Aveo to Aveo RS. The Chevrolet Aveo RS is powered by 1.4L Ecotec engine which can develop 138 hp raw power at peak. The body style of Aveo is retained in Aveo RS, so it is five door hatchback with five passenger capacity. With launch of Aveo RS Chevrolet wants to attract more young crowd to Aveo RS by projecting Aveo as a value for money hatchback car. Aveo RS is longer and wider than current Aveo, that means New Aveo will more roomier and spacious  than the existing one.

New Chevrolet Aveo RS

“The Aveo RS concept shows clearly that we are ready to make a big step forward in the small car segment, coming to Europe in 2011, the new Aveo will be completely in tune with the striking new Cruze and Spark, our all-new compact and mini entries.” said Chevrolet Europe president and managing director, Wayne Brannon.

Chevrolet dual element front grille and round  lens tail lamps with chrome lining have been become standard part of any Chevrolet cars. The fog lamps have been implanted in big brake cooling opening and again it also becoming a standard part of any newly launched Chevrolet cars. Similar concept we have seen in e-Spark as well. The belt line is above and roof line is below compared to current Aveo. The rear compartment door handles have been made along with C-pillar similar to Chevrolet Beat.

The bonnet is continuous without any flaw or sharp corner and it really suits to new Aveo. The Aveo RS is supported by a set of 19” five spokes alloy wheels. Another interesting aspect of this sportier Aveo is position and design of tail pipes. The combined tail pipes unit has been placed just above rear brake cooling opening in the centre. The list does not end there, the rear spoiler further adds the  sports flavour to Aveo RS.

Now about our home market in India, Chevrolet Aveo U-VA is bed ridden for the last few years. We expected some replacement announcement of this boxier hatch in the New Delhi Auto Expo 2010. But that did not happen, that means Chevrolet India is not serious about the business that Aveo is supposed to bring. Still we are not clueless about this decision. Can you through some light on this topic?
