Chrysler To Bring Jeep To India

Our readers may remember we had reported the possibility of Jeep’s entry to India. Now in another interesting development, Chrysler is planning to bring Jeep into Indian market.Chrysler’s plan will be the most feasible one due to the presence of their new friend, Fiat Spa in India.

PTI reports “We have been slow in entering India. This (deal with Fiat) may be an opportunity for us, particularly for the Jeep brand that could be very successful in that market,” Chrysler executive vice-president (product development) Frank Klegon said on the sidelines of the Chicago Auto Show. Eventhough the time frame is not known for now,but it is almost sure the re-entry of one of the iconic Chrysler products in India.

Last month Fiat had purchased 35% shares of Chrysler.The Chrysler-Fiat tie up was primarily formed to gain much needed funds for Chrysler.Even though the technological partnership also was expected,but this development is giving a new dimension to the Chrysler-Fiat alliance.

So Fiat will be one of the promising company to look out for new future at least in India.in India Fiat is lining up very strong product line up and got solid partnership with Tata Motors.So if the speculations are true, Jeep lovers will be the happiest to hear.
