We are all aware of Toyota’s Q-World tour of the Etios sedan and hatchback models across India. At the Kolkata leg of the tour, Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) Deputy Managing Director Sandeep Singh said that “Etios, which is now a concept car, will be marketed from early 2011,”. That came straight from the horse’s mouth ending speculation about the launch of the Etios. The sedan will be launched first followed by the hatchback.
Adding to that, he mentioned that the price would be sub-Rs 10 lakh. Yeah right, that’s well known. It will be built at the firm’s second plant near Bangalore, which has come up at an investment of Rs 3,200 crore with a production capacity of 70,000 units per annum. Commercial production of Etios will begin from December 2010, TKM Managing Director Hiroshi Nakagawa said.
