Ducati, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer is all set to sink its feet deep into the Indian market. And with that plan in mind, the manufacturer will be developing the market specific version of the Monster 796- The Monster 795.
The single digit drop in its model number will mean a drop in power and torque from the L-twin motor, replacement of the single sided swing arm with a more conventional double sided unit and also an addition of economic components to keep costs down. This can be made possible due a new plant which is set up nearby, in Thailand. However, the plant will act only as an assembly unit.
The components will still be shipped in from the Italian HQ. We can expect a price tag of around Rs. 5 lakh for the 795. This could pose a major threat to manufacturers from the east.
