F1 teams launch calendar

F1 season for 2010 kicks off with an official testing session scheduled for February1 at Valencia. All the teams are working hard to get their cars unveiled to the public and more than that, show their pace at the test. We have a list of teams and their unveiling dates so that you can keep up with what is happening in the world of F1.

Mercedes GP just launched their racing livery on a 2009 spec Brawn GP 001 car just a few hours ago. Read that article here.

Next are Ferrari who will launch their 2010 challenger on January 28 in the presence of both Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso at Maranello. Look out for their new racing livery that includes their new sponsors Santander.

Mclaren’s challenger, the MP4-25 will be driven by newly joined Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton. The new vehicle w ill be launched on January 29 at the UK headquarters of their team sponsor Vodafone in Newbury.

Sauber and Renault will unveil their cars at the Valencia circuit on January 31. Their entire line up will be present onthe day before the season testing kick-off.Williams are also planning to debut their new car at the same test.

The second round of unveilings will start when Red Bull and Force India reveal their new challengers at the second official test of the year, at the Spanish circuit of Jerez on February 10.

The new teams do need some more time for preparing their cars and hence Lotus will reveal their car only in the second week of February. Mike Gascoyne, Lotus’ technical officer has revealed that they plan to fire-up the engine on Feb5 followed by a launch on Feb 12. It will debut on the racetrack a few days later.

The new US F1 team will launch their car on American soil at the Barber Motorsport park in Alabama sometime in February.

There’s still no official word yet from fellow newcomers Virgin or Campos. Toro Rosso are also yet to announce launch plans.
