Facelifted (new) Fabia launched in India

In the face of increasing competition, Skoda Auto has launched the updated Fabia in India. This model made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show back in March. The new Fabia comes with new engines along with some cosmetic changes at a honest price. The new Fabia is available in 3 variants and 3 engine options with prices ranging from 4.35 lakhs Ex-Showroom Delhi for the base 1.2L petrol to Rs 6.69 lakhs for the top of the line diesel, which now sports a 75bhp 1.2L borrowed from the Polo.

Skoda Fabia 1.2L petrol 75bhp ; 3 variants – Classic, Ambiente & Elegance; Rs 4.35 to 5.68 lakhs

Skoda Fabia 1.2L diesel 75bhp ;  1 variant – Elegance; Rs 5.99 lakhs

Skoda Fabia 1.6L petrol 105bhp ; 3 variants – Classic, Ambiente & Elegance; Rs 5.40 to 6.69 lakhs

The new Fabia comes bang in the middle of the festive season and at a time when there are several choices out there from the Polo to Micra to i20. Exterior upgrades include new headlamps, fog lamps, redesigned front bumper and grille. To keep up with the cosmetic changes, the mechanicals have been thoroughly revamped – Three new engines are now available. The 1.6L petrol is aimed at enthusiasts. Like the Micra, the Fabia now comes with airbags as standard. Driver airbag for Classis while Ambiente and Elegance get dual airbags. Also available are ABS, Engine Braking Control (EBC) and Dual Rate Brake Assist.
