Facelifted Skoda Fabia revealed ahead of Geneva debut

Skoda has revealed the facelift for its famed Fabia model. To be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in a few days’ time, the new mode features redesigned front lights, radiator grille and bumper. The new facelift gives it a mini-Laura (Octavia to foreigners) look and definitely makes it look more upmarket. If viewed head on, you might mistake the Fabia for the Laura. Its that similar save for the lights. The new styling is keeping with the family look that is a trend among every car maker these days.

The engine range also gets tweaks in the form of 4 petrols and 2 diesels. Power ranges from 60bhp to 105bhp. All engines are now Euro-5 compliant and all of them offer reduced Co2 output along with improved fuel economy over the existing range. The highest emitting diesel puts out a mere 110g/km. The Fabia will also be available with VW’s 1.2L TSI engine that produces 105bhp and comes with the option of a 7-Speed DSG gearbox.

Also on the anvil is the vRS Fabia that will be revealed at Geneva. Stay tuned for more news.

We expect the facelift to be here by the festive season in Q3 2010. Prices are expected tog o down due to increased localisation of the chassis that is shared with the Polo.
