Its official this time – Ferrari is looking at India as a potential destination to expand their operations according to BBC and BS Motoring. Although Ferraris were always available through unofficial importers, the arrival of the company officially will be a huge relief to both new and existing owners. For once, the new owners need not pay hefty seven figure amounts to unofficial importers and for existing owners, there is nothing to beat Ferrari’s service to take care of their cars. Ferrari could set up their first dealer in India in the next six to eight months.

Luca Di Montezemolo told BBC news that India’s first Ferrari dealership could be opened before the end of 2010 itself – New Delhi and Mumbai are top priority for Ferrari. Ferrari are likely to appoint immaculate Tata dealers willing to invest in a Ferrari dealership. After Ratan Tata’s induction into Fiat’s board, Ferrari hinted that any move of theirs in India would involve Tata Motors in some way. Nothing explains India’s current economic condition and thirst for expensive cars than Ferrari’s entry. Every manufacturer wants to be in India at the moment up to the mighty Veyron which is currently available in India.
Ferrari’s current model range starts with the 458 Italia followed by the California, 612 Scaglietti, 599 GTB Fiorano and the ultimate 599 GTO. Ferrari’s replacement for the Enzo, the 458 Italia Spider, California M, new Scaglietti and new 599 are currently under development.
