Fiat 500,one of the most expensive small car chooses Mahindra’s way.Don’t get confused,Fiat announced the latest variant Fiat500 Start&Stop. So now there is something common in Fiat500 Start&Stop and Mahindra Bolero Micro-Hybrid.The Start&Stop technology is incorporated in Fiat 500′s 1.2 lounge variant. This technology is being supplied to both Mahindras and Fiat by German auto component major Bosch.
Start and Stop as name suggests, start and stops the engine according to road traffic signal conditions.Sothat the driver need not to bother about the traffic jams on the way,Bosch’s Start & Stop technology will take car of it.The comparative studies shows that with Start&Stop technology Fiat 500 1.2 lounge can reduce CO2 emission by 6g/km clocked. The fuel consumption has been decreased by 11%, the figures look quite impressive.
The Start&Stop technology comes with a series of sensors and switch gears,to ensure the smooth functioning of the vehicle with all safety requirement. This system will come in to picture only after vehicle reaches a specific speed. The driver can choose whether he needs the Start&Stop to get activated or not.
Once the engine is stopped by Start&Stop, the driver needs to press the clutch pedal, the engine will become alive. But the engine will not be started if engine is stopped and any of the door is opened or driver seat belt is unfastened.
But the users of this system in India reported as quiet boring because of the frequent stoppages in Indian roads.Fiat 500 Start&Stop drivers can always reap maximum benefit from this, thanks to relatively non-stop traffic stream.
