Grande Punto is doing wonders for Fiat irrespective of the geographical location of the markets.Europe market is witnessing continuous updates on Punto.We had updated about this face-lifting exercise before.The latest version of Grande Punto is Punto Evo and Punto Creative.But this time we have something different to tell you, Fiat has announced the recall of a massive 500,000 Grande Punto across European markets.

This recall is the biggest safety related recall in Fiat history and is related to steering malfunction which could be extremely dangerous if left unattended.These problem bearing Punto units are sold in 2008 and 2009.The half of these cars have been sold in Italy and rest of them in other European markets.Though Fiat says the steering column is faulty and will lead to improper steering control.The exact problem details are yet to be known.

Fiat is recalling Grande Punto for inspecting the steering unit and repair if required.Fiat has spend sufficient amount of time and efforts to make Punto one of the safest hatch in the world.The Punto variants come with various safety features like Airbags,EBD,ESP and ABS.Thus a problem related to steering irrespective of it’s seriousness needs to be checked and rectified.
