Fiat was pursuing their small car dream through Topolino.Unfortunately the latest news indicate that Fiat is seriously thinking of shelving their small car project at least for now.Fiat Topolino supposed to compete with Toyota IQ, a successful city car.
The reason behind shelving Topolino project is learnt to be serious design flaws that make this small car a near impossible.The problems list includes lack of interior space,pricing issues and versatility of the project.The length of Fiat Topolino was less than three meters and it was scheduled to got for mass production by end of 2010.
Though it was a distant reality, there were bright chances of arriving Topolino in India through Fiat’s Indian arm.So we are bound to loose one small car candidate.It is not a joyful step from Fiat, yet we feel it is better to take such a step rather making a miserably failed Topolino.What is your opinion?
