First spy pictures of the next-gen Suzuki Swift have emerged. We have previously shown several instances of spy pictures of the test mules but this is the first time we have got hold of the pictures of interiors. With every new generation model, Suzuki is clearly progressing well with respect to styling. While the next-gen Swift is expected to borrow styling bits from the Kizashi, the interiors have done just that. The steering wheel and the centre console is indistinguishably Kizashi which is great. Find the comparison image of the Kizashi’s interiors with these spy pictures and you instantly understand what we mean.
Compared to the Kizashi, the Swift misses the silver finish that lines either side of the centre console. The dials now sport 2 pods with chrome rings, just like its bigger brother. From the spy image, the fit and finish looks like the segment benchmark while the audio system integration is perfect. Storage area has been incorporated on the passenger side of the dashboard after the present versions criticism. The gear knob is a carry over part we guess.
The new Swift is expected to be revealed at the Paris Motor Show later in the year and will debut in October-November in Japan with international debut in 2011. With so much competition in the Indian hatchback segment, the pricing of the new Swift remains a question mark. Moreover, the new Swift is expected to grow in size to offer more rear legroom – one main criticism of the present model. With good looking interiors and Kizashi inspired looks, we expect the new Swift to storm its way to the top of its segment.
