Ford tops the ‘Top Safety Pick Award-2009′ a well acclaimed award instituted by Insurance Institute Of Highway Safety(IIHS) of US.This year IIHS awarded seventy two vehicle ‘Top Safety Pick Award – 2009′ out of this Ford’s contribution is 16.Honda motor’s comes second with 13 vehicles including’Fit’ the winner in small car segment.
IIHS recognises the vehicle manufacturer’s efforts to protect the passengers from front,side and rear collisions. Also all vehicles should have Electronic Stability Control to be eligible for rating.This years award is special in many ways, there is a winner for all eligible category,Subaru,Honda,Acura secures one award each in all categories they are competing,tripling last year winner vehicle figure to 72.
