GM will launch Tavera BS-4 in January 2011

Wheelosphere reported few weeks back that Chevrolet will re-launch the Tavera with a BS-4 compliant engine borrowed from the Sonalika group and here is the confirmation that the new Tavera will hit markets in January 2011.

The engine is currently doing duty in ICML’s Rhino MUV. The Rhino engine is in fact the latest Rover G1 series CRDi engine producing 100bhp. This engine can even be upgraded to meet Bharat Stage-5 emission norms thus ensuring a longer second life for the Tavera. GM India said that their entire range will meet BS-4 by 2011. The revitalised Tavera will receive some cosmetic upgrades to its interiors and exteriors.
