GM is setting very aggressive plans for India,immediately after the launch of Spark Muzic variant company announced the entry of mini-commercial vehicle(MCV) in India.The product variant planned for India are Wuling series which are already available in China.The Wuling products planned for India is powered by by 1.2 ltr engine.The firm time lines of these MCVs are yet to be known.So this is a pudding to the expected product offering to Indian customers.
GM has already promised Cruz and Mini for India in this year.Also there are many variants of existing product line up.With introduction of the Wuling series now GM also planning a product to compete with Maruti Omni and Versa.These MCVs have got a clear majority in Chinese market,and sold over 75,000 units in China last month.
The vehicle has been classified by SIAM as MPV(Multi-Purpose Vehicle). The figures looks impressing,but our question is there a market for this product in India?we seriously doubt can GM repeat the Chinese success story in India?.
