Honda Accord facelift spied

Hardly any changes at the rear

The Honda Accord is doing really well in India, which is surprising for two reasons – The Accord comes only with thirsty petrol engines and Honda cars are losing out to rivals in India due to the lack of a diesel engine and high price. Even the Accord for instance trails behind Skoda’s Superb in terms of sales. Hopefully, Honda will learn and launch the mid-life facelifted Accord with a 2.2L i-CTDi diesel. These are the first spy pictures of the Accord undergoing tests with minimal camouflage.

The overall silhouette remains the same with minor alterations to the front bumper and grille which are now expected to be bolder. The rear largely remains the same although the lights that are mounted on the trunk lid are covered too. Technically, to improve efficiency, Honda are expected equip the Accord with a new 6-speed automatic transmission and updated electronics. It is expected to be unveiled later this year. Hopefully, the all new Accord will come in 2013 unlike the new Civic which is delayed by one year.
