We suggest you to hold the plan till March-2009.Honda Activa the master piece from Honda Motor Cycle India(HMSI) to take a rebirth.Activa definitely re-written the scooter arena in India by conquering the minds of Indian customers. Well refined 102CC engine with never before features worked well for Honda and customers.Now HMSI making major changes in Activa to meet changed market conditions.
Following are available information as of now.The HMSI is planning to launch two different varieties, probably Activa and Activa Deluxe.Both the varieties will be powered by a new 125 110CC engine.We said it right,imagine a scooter with Shine/Stunner CBF engine,but these engines are not same.The transmission to remain as same, the existing vario-matic belt driven. In Deluxe variants ‘Combined Braking’ will be introduced, by which one can apply brake by applying any one of the brake.
Existing Activa’s 100% metal body is getting converted into selective metal parts,so the curb weight of Activa may come down and may get some advantages in terms of fuel economy,the only back drop of current Activa.The Activa Deluxe will be getting an additional feature,illuminated luggage box. Our sources said both the Activas share same looks and styles and there is no major changes other than explained above.
This Activa will be launched in first quarter-2009.

Local showrooms in Mumbai deny the news as rumors. I have already booked an Activa. I will wait for a month or two if the news is genuine. Can someone guide me

We don’t know why the dealers denying the news,may be due to fear of loosing Activa business for this period.Trust us you will see all new Activa in Indian roads by April-09.Our sources say that the vehicle is totally new.But have some Aviator touch,The best part is expected mileage,which is around 50Km/Ltr.

Hi Jay, This is correct news. My local Honda dealer confirmed this and even i am waiting since Dec for this new Activa to be launched.
i am sure it will be worth the wait, lest if I am left disappointed, I will go for the Aviator or the Suzuki Access.
Its anyways only a few weeks until March.. so just wait and hold tight…

Chances of launching New Activa in March is remote.We expect the launch will be in April.

I too am planning to buy a new Activa and am ready to wait till April and even May if the news is correct. I called up a honda dealer today to confirm the news and he denied it:(
I have also written to HMSI asking for confirmation…lests see what they have to say.

is honda planning to launch any better version of activa within next 2 months?
Honda may launch Activa Deluxe by next quarter, It is similar to existing Activa but may have some additional features like auto shutter key box and luggage box light.We will inform you once we get further details.
The reason to notice one Activa per two minutes is obvious there was no substitute for Activa and the market was untapped till Activa’s launch.But now the story is different, we have many products available.

Thanks for stopping @ wheelosphere and commenting.We hope you are comparing Old Activa and New Activa.The Activa Deluxe is yet be launched.
Regarding New Activa the response is quite impressive.Though the body is full of plastics the engine is good interms of power and fuel efficiency.We will try to publish a ownership review of New Honda Activa.
