City, the bread and butter model of Honda Siel is about to get a mild facelift. According to these images published by ACI, Honda City the C-segment offering from Japanese auto major will get some cosmetic changes in coming months. The changes will be limited to tweaked front and rear bumpers, a restyled grille with chrome garnishing as on the Accord, re-designed tail-lamps, a set of new alloy wheels as well as re-styled side-view mirrors.
There will be minor changes in interior department as well. Honda City will continue with current 116bhp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder engine that presently doing duty.
The facelifted Honda City may debut by end of 2011 or early 2012. There is no official words from Honda as of now.
Honda Siel has reduced the prices of new City. The top end model is now cheaper by Rs.1.5lakh. This step has considerably improved Honda City’s sales. More importantly, Honda City managed to reclaim it’s lost crown in C-segment from Hyundai Verna. The achievement is remarkable considering absence of a diesel motor while it’s competitors are offering diesel variants. While City managed to attract more than 5800 customers it’s nearest competitor Hyundai Verna managed to sell only 4211 units (both petrol and diesel).
What do you think? Will Honda City repeat last month’s sales figures in coming months as well? Needs to wait and see.
