Honda Civic 8th generation was pulled out of Honda Motors Co’s Japan website in this August. Hope our regular readers might be recalling our post on that story. Now media reports suggests that Honda has pressed stop button on Civic production lines in their parent factory. Company will sell 8th generation Honda Civic to just clear their inventory. As company is pulling curtain of this model, it will pave ways for arrival of 9th generation Honda Civic which was caught in deserts of middle east.
Honda will continue selling four door version of Civic. Honda Civic was one of the best seller in Japanese market, but during last month they could sell only 182 units. Understanding downward trend of Civic Honda decided to discontinue this model in Japan. Civic Hybrid too will be remaining in Honda’s portfolio.
The current Civic was launched in 09/2007 and company officially pulled the curtain in 08/2010. That means the life span of 8th generation Honda Civic limited to one year.
In India, Honda Civic continuing it’s moderately good performance. But we should wait and see how long Honda Civic can continue this spell as the competition is getting tougher day by day.
