Honda Fit/Jazz Station wagon variant is on its way. If the reports appeared on a Japanese print magazine is to be believed Honda Jazz is about to get a station wagon version in coming months. This news was appeared on NA which claims that a Japanese print magazine published leaked leaflets of station wagon variant Honda Fit called Honda Fit/Jazz Shuttle. Honda Fit Shuttle will be launched in Japan by this March and remaining markets may receive in due course of time.
Honda Fit station wagon aka Airwave was earlier featured in Wheelosphere. But the final image is different from the rendering, Honda fit Station wagon is based on current model of Fit Hatchback. The portion till C-Pillar is similar to its’ hatchback sibling except minor changes in the front bumper and grille. The rear view too looks similar to it’s hatchback sibling. The clear lens tail lamps set looks similar to Honda Jazz Hybrid. But the real difference comes in side view where the extended glass panels after C-Pillar forms the extra boot space in station wagon.
Honda Fit Airwave/station wagon is longer by 510mm compared to Fit/Jazz hatchback. All other dimensions like width, height and wheel base are similar to the hatch. Honda Fit Airwave/ station wagon will be powered by a 1.5ltr gasoline engine which can offer a peak power of 120 BHP and a hybrid variant may also become part of the offering. If it happens, Honda Insight’s powerhouse will be adopted in station wagon variant also. It a combo of a 1.3ltr Gasoline engine and a 14HP electric motor.
