Honda Jazz was an hatch back option for prospective customers till company announcing the pricing.Honda announced the pricing of their upcoming premium hatch back Jazz.Honda is reading Jazz for it’s June launch with a price tag of Rs.7 lacs.If we say the pricing is real shocker from Honda Siel Car India(HSCI) I am sure some of you will definitely agree.

Honda Jazz now became the costliest hatch back Indian market.First Skoda surprised Indian customers by tagging Fabia with Rs.6lac plus, then Hyundai followed the suit by playing around Rs.6lac during their I20 launch. But it is worth to say Fabia pricing will not frustuate you once you own one.
Honda Jazz is a super hit in almost all countries where it is already launched. So what is Honda is readying for India? As of now HSCI is confirmed 1.2ltr petrol engine for Indian market, and Jazz’s diesel variant may follow soon.
Honda is branding Jazz as a compact car with all top end safety features. It is believed that Air Bags and ABS could be standard features of Jazz and Honda’s state of art G-Con passenger safety system during collision also expected to be part of Jazz’s Indian variant.
Jazz’s journey could not be easy, reason is obvious heavy price tag.In this price bracket one could easily acquire a much bigger sedan or even a multi-utility vehicle (read Xylo).HSCI must be aware of this fact, still they are confident enough to tag Jazz at Rs.7lac.So you guessed it right what could be the offering ?
Hear from HSCI’s marketing head Jnaneswar Sen,”The car will give a brand as well as a value proposition to customers. The idea is to create an all-new category.” So Mr.Sen is confidently saying that Jazz will be segment creator in Indian market.
Honda Jazz will be sharing many parts with Honda City, thus HSCI can standardize many parts between two models.Indeginization level of Jazz is around 70%.But the question in our mind is “Can’t HSCI put some fruitful effort to further increase the indeginization and pass on the benefit to Indian customers?”. So Honda is planning Jazz as a award winner?

I knew it – and have said so before Honda has indeed lost their mind when it came to pricing the Jazz. Guess they are not wanting to make it a volume seller. It will sell in the same numbers as the Fabia (might even steal customers from the Fabia). End of Story. The people who waited can happily go buy Swifts, Getz, I20, Vista,Stile – not that there are no options. Honda please do what you want !
Sushil,
Sounds like an angry young man.To be honest I was also eagerly waiting to know Jazz’s pricing. Now I have to choose between Swift or Stile(Not for now)
Hi George … you are correct – the 7L price has made me angry. It is now for sure in the unreachable range for most people. My close friend was waiting for the Jazz and is now disappointed. He is going to look at the Ritz instead. As for me I cannot afford to change my car anytime now …have to live through my friends new car purchases
.
Same here too Sushil.Jazz’s pricing decision was a shocker for me.
Too high priced… better put 50k more and go for a nice sedan or Swift is anytime better..
You are absolutely right Kamal,It looks like Honda offloading entire burden of excise duties to Indian customers.Let us see how our people respond to Jazz. Some times Jazz also will perform like Super Premium Hatch Back Fabia in sales front.
