Honda Jazz is not a success story in India. Though it is a premium hatchback we hardly spot them on road. According to media reports, In Japan Honda is planning to discontinue their compact wagon offering Airwave. Honda Airwave was introduced there in 2005. Now to fill the vacuum which Airwave’s departure will be creating, could be filled by a similar wagon. Here comes our Jazz into picture, Honda may consider creating a wagon on Jazz/Fit platform (Code Name:- 2fb). The rendering of this Honda Jazz Wagon aka Airwave looks neat and attractive.
The dimensions of this Jazz Wagon is 4.3 x 1.7 x 1.5 m and may have curb weight of 1220 Kg. The new Honda Airwave could be powered by a 1.5ltr i-vtec engine which doing duty in international variants of Honda Fit/Jazz. (In India still we are waiting for this engine). Honda Airwave will be accommodating five persons and will coming with 2 row seat configuration. Wagon variant of Jazz may lack interior feature but will have better space utilization.
2011 Honda Airwave will be launched in Japan by Q2 of 2011, other markets like Hong Kong, Singapore, and New Zealand may also receive Jazz Wagon at a later stage.
Interesting rendering.. too good to be true!

Honda would do well commercially in launching an MPV like FRV or FREED in India, which has flexibility of carry 6 to 7 people when needed for joint/ extended family and also double up to carry luggage when required. The FREED is already a popular vehicle in Indonesia/ Malaysia.

True there is sufficient space for a product like Freed and FRV in India. But Honda should price it reasonably..
