After the break up with Hero, Honda has been working really hard. In spite of having the largest share of motorcycles globally, Honda is still on number four in India and they need to still work harder. Yoshiharu Yamamoto, President, CEO and Representative Director, Honda R&D has identified the reason for this and has promised the market more fuel efficient products at the right time.
In line with this new agenda, the company has invested sizeable amounts in the plant at Bengaluru and is also investing in a new R&D facility. Reports have suggested that the company is working towards developing a new 125 cc fuel efficient engine for a scooter. Further, the company is also planning on tweaking the current models to squeeze out some more kms to the liter. However, we still cant be sure as to when we can see these plans materialize.
