Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI)emerged as the most improved car manufacturer in J.D.Power Initial Quality StudySM(IQS)-2008 .Honda’s all products topped in their respective categories.General Motors(GM) comes next with two products and Maruti and Toyota comes third with one product each in their category.
Initial Quality Study(IQS) portraits number of quality related issues reported in new vehicles within two to six months of purchase.The study covers over 200 problems in eight categories including engine and transmission,vehicle experience,driving experience,HVAC,features,control and displays,vehicle interior,seats and audio,entertainment and navigation.The final score expressed as total number of problems reported per 100 vehicles.Obviously the least scorer stands higher.
Honda CR-V,scored 33problems per vehicle(PP)100, by improving 17 PP 100 from 2007 score. The City and Civic scored 68PP100 and 78PP100 respectively.GM’s Sparks and U-VA scored 148PP100 and 102PP100 vehicle.The debutant Suzuki Swift Dzire tops in mid-size segment 166PP100.
