Honda’s ambitious small car project (Code Name:-2CV) is taking it’s final shape. Honda may call their new small car as Brio. The first concept of Honda small car showcased in 2010 New Delhi Auto Expo. Honda Brio India launch may happen by end of 2011. But Honda will be previewing their new small car Brio during Thailand Motor Show schedule to start by end of this month. Ahead of official previewing of Honda Brio here we have a set of rendered images of this upcoming car.
Honda Brio is aimed to serve markets like India, Thailand, Brazil and Argentina. Though the engine options of Honda Brio is still a mystery we expect an all new small petrol engine will do duty in Brio. The 1.2ltr Honda Jazz engine may find a place in higher version of Brio. Honda Motors wants to price Brio competitively, that means many features like, ABS, Airbags will be missing from the list.
Honda Brio has been rendered by keeping Jazz in mind. We can easily point out similarities in grille and bumper combination of Honda Jazz and Brio. Other exterior elements are continuation of the concept car shown previously. The honey combed nose looks attractive for Brio. In rear, the tail lamps have been placed much below than that of Jazz. Overall there are lots of lines and corners coming in and they really going well with Brio. Frankly speaking if the renderings have some thing to do with actual Honda Brio, it could be wonderful.
Honda officials has cautioned about the pricing of Brio, top brass of HSCI has said Brio will not be a mass market product. As we already experienced a heavier price tag of Honda Jazz we need to wait to know the actual price. Hope Honda Brio will come with sufficient amount of local contents to keep the price competitive.
