HRT to get a new chassis supplier

Hispania Racing team are said to be looking at a new chassis supplier after its split with Dallara, its present chassis supplier. HRT have not fared well this season failing to finish on many occasions. With a difficult financial situation, HRT sourced their chassis from Dallara for the 2010 season and HRT claim that Dallara did not put in enough testing to hone the chassis. So HRT have a backup plan, and a good one at that.

HRT are reportedly looking at Toyota’s TF110 chassis that was developed for the 2010 season but was unused after Toyota’s exit at the end of 2009. A pair of Toyota F1 cars are on sale after Stefan GP defaulted on payments to buy them. Stefan GP wanted to buy the cars and participate in the 2010 season but the FIA denied them a chance and Stefan GP delayed payments to Toyota. Stefan GP is however still in operation, providing support to other teams and we feel that a HRT-Stefan GP tie-up is what is needed at the moment to save both the teams.
